Steinway model D Concert Grand, 438734 c1974.
This one owner piano has been well maintained. It has a solid soundboard with no dead spots or issues. The pinblock is in good condition (one stringing only). The Teflon shanks and flanges and hammers were replaced approximately 20 - 30 years ago with Renner parts and are in very good condition. The hammers may be Hamburg Steinway but not sure. The wippens are original but no problems or noise. Dampers are in good condition.
The case has a few minor scuffs and seems to have sustained some slight damage on the music desk's right hand panel but easily repaired. It is otherwise in good condition and could be detailed to make it look very, very nice. The action has a nice touchweight and the tone is nicely balanced throughout.
While the piano is completely playable as it is with some basic servicing, to turn this piano into a formidable concert instrument would not take that much and an estimate can be provided should you decide to go that route.
With a new Steinway Model D Concert Grand running at $198,000 this is a really good opportunity.
The piano is currently located in a piano storage facility in South San Francisco but viewing can be arranged.
Price Reduced to $29,500.00

Steinway Model O 148837 (1910)
The following work was done in 2003: hammer replacement (Steinway), hammers shanks, wippens (Renner), recover backchecks, replace key bushings. This work alone would cost $10,000+ in today’s market.
Otherwise the piano is in original condition. The original ivory has been replaced with plastic, but it’s in good condition. The soundboard is very good on this piano, the pin block has had only the original stringing so it’s fine, the bridges are in good shape.
The piano performs well presently and delivers a good quality sound and touch. Because of its age it will benefit from restoring the rest of the piano at some point but for someone who wants a Steinway piano that performs well as is and has great potential at a reasonable price this should be a serious consideration. Estimates on the remaining work can be provided if interested.
The value of this piano when fully restored is generally around $40,000. The current new price for a Steinway model O is around $90,000. Restringing and refinishing together could be done for under $20k.
Price: $9500.00

Steinway Model AIII (6'4") Serial Number 207316 1922
This is the much sought after third iteration of the Model A. In this iteration the length was extended to from 6'1" to 6'4" which gives added bass response. The tenor transition to the bass has 5 bichords which gives that tenor/bass break a much smoother transition that you find even on the Model B. The original soundboard is in very good condition.
This piano was rebuilt in ~2017 with new Renner action (Renner Blue Point hammers), new dampers, new strings, refinished plate, original ivory keys in very good condition. It appears that the piano was refinished at some point fairly recently but may not have been done at the same time. It is the very beautiful mahogany and it has been recently reconditioned and presents very well. A few marks here and there but no fading and in otherwise very good condition. The very reasonable price reflects that as the AIII in this type of playing condition typically goes for much more. A good opportunity for this rare and out of production model.
Comes with Jansen Artists Bench

Steinway Model D Concert Grand 8'11 3/4" (274 cm)
Serial Number 523709 manufactured in 1992
This Steinway concert grand is a powerhouse. Clarity, sustain and power are all in abundance. This could easily be a concert venue instrument and may have been at one point. This piano was manufactured at a time when Renner Parts were standard from the Steinway factory for their higher end instruments. The hammers (NY Steinway) were replaced at some point, probably about 15 years ago but are in excellent condition. There is small repaired crack in the bass corner (left side near the dampers) that is stable and has no bearing on the tone. There are also a couple of pressure ridges, not unusual in compression crowned soundboards as Steinway makes. This is a unique instrument, balanced with a strong 5th octave (a vulnerable area on some Steinway pianos). The case has just been detailed and rubbed out and is in excellent condition. The piano was tuned and voiced recently and has been meticulously maintained by the current owner. For a concert venue or someone with the space for it this an excellent piano. Comes with artist's bench. More pictures available upon request.

Steinway Model B in good condition. Serial Number 433563 manufactured in 1973. This piano is a one owner piano. Made in the teflon era but the teflon shanks were replaced with Renner shanks along with a set of Abel performance hammers in 2003. At that time the bass strings were also replaced. Key bushings were done at the same time. Otherwise all parts are original. The soundboard is in very good condition with no cracks and performs well. The action is balanced to a very nice, medium weight. Tone is clear and warm with plenty of power. Dampers have some sizzling in the lower end of the piano but still fully functional. There is not noise from the teflon as shank/flange assembly was replaced. While the original wippens do still have teflon that is not typically a source of any noise and they work perfectly fine. Case is in good condtion with only light scuffing. The piano can be played in its current condition without any problems. Includes artist's bench.

Bosendorfer Grand Piano 1959 model 225. This piano belonged to Adolph Baller and I had the honor of taking care of it during the many years that I worked for (and studied with) him prior to his death in 1994. He used this piano for concertizing in has later years and took it with him for performances whenever he could. I prepped the piano countless times on the Dinkelspiel Stage at Stanford. He rarely practiced on it but used another piano in his home for practicing. While smaller than the concert grand you would expect in such a venue he insisted on using this one and it balanced extremely well with his chamber work and his ability to extract the most nuanced and expressive phrases from it. The piano has been virtually unplayed since he passed away, kept by his daughter Nina. I have tuned the piano periodically but it has received little use. The family has asked me to help them find the appropriate home for it. It is perfectly playable as is. The hammers show some wear, as they are the original hammers, but still produce a beautiful tone. The strings, soundboard, pinblock are in excellent condition. The touch is light. There are a few marks and a few areas in the finish that are flaking but the piano performs beautifully. It's is a two pedal piano with no working sostenuto as is typical for Bosendorfer pianos of the era.
